Claire Priestley – Teesdale Felt
Artist Claire Priestley is a member of Network Artists North East, and The International Feltmakers Association.
Using Corriedale, Merino and Wensleydale curly wool, Claire will guide you through the process to create a unique needle felted Herdwick sheep. These little sheep measure approximately 10cm high and stand on four sturdy legs. If you would like to adapt your sheep to create a favourite breed (for example a Swaledale), this is entirely possible. A demonstration, individual tuition, all materials and equipment and light refreshments will be provided.
This half-day workshop is perfect for both beginners and those wishing to refine their felting skills.
Important information
Minimum age: 14 years (no younger as sharp, barbed needles are used)
The workshop will be 3 – 3.5 hours long
There will be a break during the workshop
Refreshments will be provided
All materials will be provided
Participants can bring a photograph of a favourite breed of sheep if they would like to use this
