End of Season Round Up – Spring 2023

As the days get longer and the sun shines brighter, we’re spending some time reflecting on our fabulous Spring season.

We opened with Ma Bessie’s spectacular prohibition parties and closed with Bulley and Mackenzie’s fiery, energy fuelled acoustic music style. In between, we met cowboys, gardeners, pirates, miners and Vikings, got our hands dirty with the ladies that dig, solved Austen-inspired murders and found our happy place.

A huge thanks to all our audiences, artists and – most of all – to our venues and volunteer promoter teams, who invited us into their rural communities with the warmest welcome.

We hope you enjoy the summer sunshine and make sure that you keep an eye out for the launch of the Autumn 2023 Season – another fantastic programme of community events on your doorstep coming soon.

PARTICIPATE

Across Spring and Summer schools terms, Participate has worked with 28 primary and secondary schools and with three community youth groups, delivering 39 workshops, for children and young people.

We’ve also worked with 17 really exciting regional artists and companies from our ‘All Year Round’ menu, alongside some fantastic touring artists – bringing Dance, Music, Theatre and Drama, Animation and Cartooning and Creative Writing to groups ranging from 13 to 80 participants.

Look out for our new Rural Young Creatives project and get in touch if your school or local community youth group might be interested to get involved.
