Robin Webb – Animation workshops in Cumbria

We’re very pleased to welcome Robin back to give some workshops again this June, with Kirkby Stephen Primary School. Robin will be spending the whole day with Year 6 children, sharing skills in film making and cut out animation techniques.

Alongside his own practice Robin designs and runs participatory and educational animation and filmmaking projects throughout the North. Robin works with the International Animex Festival of Animation and Games, founded by Teeside University, where he has regularly run workshops since 2003 for children and others, as an integral part of the Festival. They make small animations and play them to an international audience of industry professionals. Read more about his work HERE.

Robin has worked with Highlights across counties and we’ve had some great feedback about the workshops –

“The children really enjoyed the practical elements which included looking at Zoetropes.”

“Robin created an animation with the children using stop motion. All children were offered a chance to take part and we were given a digital copy of the animation afterwards.”

“Children were very enthusiastic about the project once they understood a little bit about what stop motion involved. They were proud of the final animation produced with the support of Robin.”

“Robin was very knowledgeable and keen to answer the children’s questions.”

  • “The children learnt a lot, worked co-operatively and are very pleased with the finished animation.”
