Research on the Impacts of Rural Touring

The National Rural Touring Forum (NRTF) and the University of Warwick, with support from Arts Council England, are carrying out a research project exploring the wellbeing and economic impacts of rural and community touring across the UK. They want to look at how the work of volunteer promoters strengthens rural economies, supports small businesses, reduces isolation, and enriches wellbeing.

Why take part in the survey?

If you are a rural touring promoter, we would really value your input. The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and will help build evidence to support funding, advocacy and recognition for rural touring and its volunteers. We want to ensure rural culture and the work of volunteer promoters are better recognised and supported in the future.

By taking part, you support rural touring to:

  • Approach national and regional policymakers with evidence-based requests
  • Strengthen the case for funding to further develop the sector
  • Guide the creation of useful resources for the promoter community
  • Advocate about the impact of the rural touring sector
