KnottedHawk Dance Company has received glowing reviews from school pupils following a hugely successful tour last week, bringing their dynamic and inspiring show, The Quest for Planet P, to students and staff at Broomley First School and Stanhope Barrington Primary School.

The interactive dance theatre performance follows the adventures of two brave little aliens, Ozmo and Orbi, who must set off on an amazing journey to find a perfect planet when chaos hits their own world. The heartfelt story, which is aimed at children under 11, serves as a powerful message about fighting for the environment and proving that even the smallest voices can make a big impact.

The company’s visit through Highlights, made possible by Northern School of Contemporary Dance included both the high-energy performance and an engaging workshop, leaving a lasting impression on pupils and teachers alike.

The feedback from both schools was overwhelmingly positive, with teachers praising the show’s excitement and meaningful themes.

D. Cross, a teacher at Stanhope Barrington Primary School, noted the show’s high level of audience participation:

“It was very engaging and exciting. The children in KS2 enjoyed the performance and then Emerald had fun doing the workshop and games at the end. Highlights from the children were the bubbles and the funny moments between the two characters.”

Meanwhile, Broomley First School reported an unprecedented reaction to the visiting performers.

L. Ramsay, a teacher at Broomley First School, described the visit as truly exceptional:

“We have never had such a favourable response to anyone coming into school before. The children absolutely loved The Quest for Planet P but it wasn’t just them, all the staff said how fantastic it was too. Amazing and uplifting were the most used words to describe the performance. We really couldn’t praise the team highly enough.”

To show their gratitude, the children at Broomley First School presented the actors with a special, hand-made thank-you poster before the company departed—a wonderful testament to the show’s success and the strong connection the performers made with their young audience.
