A fun introduction to the art of metal embossing. On this workshop you’ll explore the traditional art of metal embossing, inspired by the vibrant Mexican craft of 'milagritos' - 'little miracles'. Under the friendly guidance of tutor Carrie, you’ll design and emboss your very own 'corazón mexicano', a sacred heart full of colour, meaning, and personal flair.

You’ll start with a practice piece to help you get comfortable with the tools and techniques. Then, you’ll move on to designing your own heart, creating an artwork unique to you. Once your design is drawn, you will be shown how to transfer your drawing onto metal, and bring it to life through embossing. Along the way, you will learn tips and techniques.

Once your embossing is complete, you’ll add the finishing touches by aging the metal for a vintage look, then brighten it up with vibrant colours. Whether you choose to hang it on your wall or display it in a window, your finished piece will be a unique keepsake you’ll be proud to show off.
