ACT Youth Theatre is a creative place where young people can find out about the world of theatre. Based in Currock Community Centre in Carlisle and in Penrith Rugby Club in Penrith we run classes for children aged 8-18. focusing on various different aspects of performance including Acting, Singing and Dance.

A series of weekly online workshops, will provide young people aged between 14 and 18 years old who may not otherwise have access to the theatre industry an opportunity to explore roles in the theatre with practical insight from professionals who work in the field. Turrets Youth Theatre runs weekly drama sessions, termly theatre performances and one-off creative projects for children and young people in Barnard Castle and the surrounding area.

We have two groups – Juniors (ages 8-12) and Seniors (ages 13+) – and meet on a Wednesday evening (4-5:30pm and 5:45-7:15pm) at The Witham Community Arts Centre.

Through devised and scripted work, our groups develop imaginative and original performances, equipping members with invaluable experiences both on and off stage. Our weekly workshops are full of play, building confidence and trust as key acting skills are developed. We have masterclasses, guest facilitators and a range of different performance opportunities. It’s a lot of fun – come and join us!
