Leather Tooling Workshop with Mark Rowney

The Hide

A full day’s workshop that explores all aspects of leather tooling design from initial simple sketching to finished creation. By applying hand-tooled designs to the surface of eco-sourced leather, you will learn how to create imagery (either figurative, abstract or written) to embellish hand-coloured and stitched items which you can then take home.

Mark Rowney provides expert tuition and has worked in London and New York as an illustrator and as an accessory designer for the fashion designer Paul Smith. He has also spent time in India as a soft furnishings designer before returning to the hills of County Durham where he has pursued his love of leather carving for book covers and producing intricate leather sculptures.
