Hattie Whitehead was raised on folk and jazz greats of the sixties and seventies. Her smart lyrics and powerful, outspoken voice blend folk sensibilities with a modern sound shaped by her discovery of contemporary genres.
Hattie’s first three EPs have led her to be endorsed by the likes of Glastonbury (where she won third prize in their emerging artists competition), Guy Garvey (whose songs Hattie performed for the soundtrack of Apple TV series, Trying), iPaper, Songwriting Magazine and BBC Radio, with Jazzwise Magazine describing her as “one of the greatest singers I have ever heard.”
Following her meeting and collaboration with producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor), now comes Hattie’s debut album Bloom. This record takes Hattie’s unflinching honesty in songwriting and delves into existential themes of empowerment, family, womanhood and relationships with a tone of re-growth and optimism, following her journey with grief. Set for release in October 2024, Hattie will be taking this album on the road for her first extensive tour in Spring 2025. This will be a rare chance to catch her live outside of her home city of London.
